Cats

INTRO:

Cats range from wildcats (like a tiger) to domestic (a pet), and feral (stray cats). There are many breeds, the fur is either short, long or extremely short. Small cats (feral or domestic) cannot see reds: orange, red, brown, violet, purple, and pink. They can only see yellow, blue, green, gray, black and white. Domestic cats must sleep 12-16 hours a day. All cats love to roll in or eat herbs.

HUNTING, FOOD & GIFTS:

Domestic or feral cats will hunt and eat mice, voles, rabbits, birds, rats, frogs, lizards, and moths. Some cats have a way of hunting hawks, even though it takes more than one! Wildcats will hunt what ever is near their home. Some feral cats will join together to hunt for each other and protection. Pet cats will eat canned cat food, dry cat food, human food and everything they can hunt.  Some cats need a special diet or take medicine every day. All cats are carnivores (eats meat), but some will eat plants. Grass makes their stomach feel better. Cats may bring you a dead animal or some other object. Those are gifts. Cats do that because they like you or want to show how good they are at hunting. Cats enjoy catmint (catnip) to eat, roll in and play with. Moist honeysuckle flowers have the same effect, not as intense. Be careful, some types of honeysuckle are poisonous!Surprised
